If you read my last blog post Fashion Market, you know I had no intention of attending Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam, but I was happily surprised when I found out that I won tickets for the Dorhout Mees catwalk show. The tickets were gifted by F.A.L.L. (Fashion, Art, Literature & Lifestyle) Magazine. They had a wonderful interview with Esther Louise the designer of Dorhout Mees, which you can read here. At the end of the interview they gave readers the opportunity to win two tickets to Dorhout Mees catwalk show in Amsterdam, which I won. So off I went with a friend to Amsterdam to see the Dorhout Mees Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
Dourhout Mees website describes her style as elegant, feminine and conceptual, but were wearability is always an important element. The base of all her collections are prints, silk, wool and delicate knits that she combines with the use of wearable unconventional materials.

Her Spring/Summer 2015 womenswear collection, called “O” was inspired by water, more specifically water crystals. The opening of the catwalk show included video and music of moving water. For her outfit she used water tones colours blue, white and also a touch of pink. She made her outfits very open, so when walking in them it would flow to give the illusion of flowing water. I loved the collection, seeing the outfits reminded me of the feeling of lying on a sandy beach on an island in the caribbean where everything was serene and peaceful.
