OOTD: Mart Visser

Since 2012 Dutch Fashion designer Mart Visser has been collaborating with department store V&D offering a wide range of clothing designed by him. Three years later, you can now find a Mart Visser shop in shop at the V&D. During the Spring the designer came to my attention as he had decided to expand the size range of some of his clothing. At the time I thought it was very brave of him and the department store to organise such large promotional campaign, in a time where people are still being shamed for being plus size.

Mart Visser took five items from his Clear Classic collection and expanded them to size EU 52 (US 22). Together with the department store he even had a model search competition called the next Maxi Muze, who would then become the face of the plus size campaign. Below is the picture the Mart Visser and winner of the Maxi Muze competition, Giselaplus size model for MaxiMeModels Agency

While visiting V&D during the Summer sale, I looked at the Mart Visser collection and saw that some of the clothing were on sale. I tried on several pieces and ended up buying this patterned pencil skirt from the Clear Classic collection.

For my outfit of the day (OOTD) I combined the skirt with a simple black top and to add some colour paired it off with a coral pink crepe blazer. I like the skirt so much. It kinds of goes with everything, which I think was the point when you consider that it was made to be part of a collection that included the word classic.

Black Top: Hermann Lange
Crepe Blazer: Wallis
Pencil Skirt: Mart Visser for V&D

I love how the outfit came together, classic mixed pastel colours.

Stay Fashionable, Miss George
